Broker Steve Jurrist of City Apt Group LLC says he's had a tough time renting out this two-bedroom in Hell's Kitchen, despite trying for the last couple of months. But take a closer look at some of its cringe-worthy features, and you may not be surprised that he's having a hard time.

For starters, it's on the fifth floor of a walk-up building. If you make it past the stairs, you have to contend with the fact that one of the bedrooms has no windows, not to mention the fact that the apartment has no common space whatsoever.

A recent college grad might say, "What the heck, I'll take it anyway," but it's not quite that simple—a guarantor is needed, too. "I've rented out three apartments in that building," said Jurrist. "But I've had this one the longest. It is what it is, what can you do?"
