Last week, fun was had with numbers as commuting times were compared to real estate values. This week, the comparison goes bi-coastal. NeighborhoodX, a real estate/data start-up focused on neighborhood-level analysis, has determined which San Francisco neighborhoods are equivalent to New York City neighborhoods. The site put it on a map and also compared the real estate values. If you live in Greenwich Village ($1,385 per square foot), you should consider Noe Valley ($1,362 per square foot). If you live in Bushwick ($701 per square foot), you should consider Excelsior ($734 per square foot). "Excelsior" happens to be New York State's motto.
The real estate values are also available as a chart.
