Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various NYC neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today, we're looking at apartments that are $7,000/month.
↑ While the staging is surely part of what makes this Fort Greene three-bedroom seem so picture-perfect—look at that kitchen!—but the space itself, a ground-level duplex, is rather lovely as well. There are two bathrooms, a washer-dryer, and a private backyard. (And, as an added bonus, it's located four blocks from Fort Greene Park.) It's asking $7,000 per month. ↓ Located in the Cipriani Club Residences, this Financial District one-bedroom loft comes fully furnished, and has one and a half bathrooms, a terrace, and a skylight. The building itself is pretty swanky, with a doorman, roof deck, and a housekeeping service.
↓ In Boerum Hill, $7,000 per month can get you a short-term rental in a townhouse on a pretty side street between Smith and Hoyt Streets. The full-floor, two-bedroom unit has a large living room, a renovated eat-in kitchen, brick fireplace, and a small balcony.
↓ A Tribeca penthouse, currently available for $7,000 per month, has that whole industrial-chic feel happening, with exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and oversized windows. It's 1,400 square feet with a rather sizable kitchen; but on the downside, it's arranged in railroad style, with the bedroom at one end and the kitchen/common area at the other.
↓ When it comes to this Flatiron two-bedroom, the $7,000 price tag can probably be chalked up to location—it's situated in a building across the street from the iconic building that gives the neighborhood its name. The interior is nice, if a bit uninspired; a creative tenant could probably do a lot with the very white space. There's also a balcony.
↓ On the Upper East Side, a two-bedroom apartment in the Strathmore comes with an unusual curved shape that makes for some pretty spectacular vistas of the surrounding environs. The airy apartment also has a washer/dryer, a walk-in closet, and a dishwasher.
