By gum, Trump might have been right: this Harlem thing is gonna be huge! Today's evidence: Marriott is planning a 51-story hotel for 125th Street that, in the words of city Councilman Bill Perkins, "dwarfs anything the eye can see, north, south, east or west." The building, designed by architect Enrique Norten, comes before city planners today.
The architect is unfazed. Reports the Daily News, "'My point of view is the building is an iconic structure,' said Caridi, who renovated the Holiday Inn on W. 57th Street. 'Harlem deserves something magnificent.'"
