So much for downtown rental bargains. A new report from Citi Habitats says that, for the first time since 2001, rents jumped on Manhattan apartments of all sizes last year. Studios climbed from $1,625/month to $1,676; 1BRs from $2,308 to $2,310, and 2BRs from $3,231 to $3,393. Reports the Post, "While rents in Midtown, Murray Hill, and the Upper West and East sides stayed relatively stable, rents in Chelsea, the West Village and SoHo/TriBeCa shot up." The average monthly rental price for a studio in Soho/Tribeca: a sassy $2,214.
