Uptown Development Update: Lofty Ambitions

Curbed's real estate spy offers an update on new developments that have recently hit the market above 59th Street. That wacky uptown loft trend has legs, people!

1) The Lofts at 219 East 67th Street [Corcoran]
Raw space, formerly Christie's East, "219 East 67th is for the person who wants the grand space of a TriBeCa loft, but doesn't want to go downtown to find it." (God forbid!)

2) 223 West 80th Street [Douglas Elliman]
Two bedroom "luxurious residences" are "designed in the style of a Downtown loft." (Now where have we heard that before?)

3) The Amanda, 32 West 128th St. [Douglas Elliman]
Elliman calls it like it is here: "The Amanda offers modern, loft-like living in historic Central Harlem...an urban oasis that cannot be found elsewhere in Manhattan for a comparable price." Two 2-beds remain, at $640,000-$650,000, respectively (though the larger apartment with balcony has the lower price, odd?), and you can still say you live "off Fifth Avenue"

4) The Gateway, 2098 Frederick Douglass Blvd [Halstead]
Halstead's foray into Harlem (at 113th Street) has an openhouse this Sunday, 11am-2pm. Swing by on your way to Westchester for Sunday dinner with the folks. Prices from $259,000 for a studio to $849,000 for a 2-bed with private roof deck. Best of all: no lofts!
