While the Meatpacking District gears up for Andre Balazs' new Standard Hotel, 45th Street readies to embrace The 45th Street Why?, his neo-flophouse designed by architectural comer Lindy Roy that's scheduled to open next year. Bunk beds will start at $50, and Balazs tells New York, "There's going to be very, very, very minimal service." FYI, Andre, for $50, we expect at least a basic level of, uh, servicing.
