We thought we were done with Bed-Stuy for this week, but the Village Voice lures us back with a profile of a family's renovation of a brownstone in the hood. Seems they paid $249,000 for the 3,300 sq. ft. 1890s-era building in 2000, then went to work. Says the owner, "I'd say rehab was about $200,000 to $250,000. In between our buying and possessing it, the house was stripped completely?carvings, everything. We saw it happening. We were living in our other brownstone down the street. What are you going to do? Such is life."
