More Brooklyn real estate development news: developer Robert Lavine's $200 million deal to buy 360 Furman Street, the ginormous warehouse building in Brooklyn Heights owned by Jehovah's Witnesses The Watchtower, has closed. Informally on the market for about nine months before the deal was struck in April, the building served as the bible distribution center for The Watchtower, drawing the ire of local nonbelievers who didn't care for the noise and fumes. Though the building has sold, The Watchtower still owns a huge chunk of Brooklyn Heights--about three dozen buildings, by our loose count.
