Blogger Ian Mount of ebway.org stopped by last week's opening of new Lower East Side nightclub The Delancey, once early in the evening, then again post-midnight. Of his latter visit, he writes, "We returned to find The Delancey oddly empty. A bouncer stood outside the front door and explained that there'd been a 'major incident.' Was a trucker hat wearer mocked for his passé style? Did someone say 'Williamsburg is so gay'? One can only guess." The speed of the decline leads Tale of Two Cities to wonder, "Would this be the quickest so over in hipster history? I mean, it was cool when it opened, but by hour three it was so played out."
