Gehry in Chelsea: Dining 'Neath the LendingTree

Ground has just broken on Frank Gehry's new office building in Chelsea, reports The Villager. The building, which occupies a primo West Side Highway spot across from Chelsea Piers, is slated to become the headquarters for Barry Diller's IAC/InterActiveCorp and its adorable collection of dot-coms (Expedia, Hotels.com, Hotwire, Ticketmaster, Citysearch and LendingTree). Study those names well, then consider that IAC/Interactive says in its building fact sheet that on the ground floor "there will be a restaurant that will reflect and utilize all of the IAC brands and be as interactive as the company and Frank Gehry can conjure." The building will be finished in late 2006, but we believe it is not to early to begin bracing your palate for what will likely be the most dynamic, synergistic disaster in NYC dining history.
