Home Depot Hits Manhattan

On the heels of today's NYT correction, a Curbed reader offers a report from the Flatiron District on Manhattan's first Home Depot, opening Sept. 10:

I walk by the 23rd Street [@ 5th/6th Aves] Home Depot site in the beautiful, old Hasbro building every day, peeking in when I can to see the pace of construction. Well, it looks like they're ready to go. The first floor has been all boarded up on the outside for months, but now they're down. It's going to be interesting to see what they're doing to this really gorgeous building that's now going to have a big-box store in it.
Some say hottest retail opening of the year! (Okay, second hottest.)
