Will We Always Have Paris?

A Curbed operative dials in with this update from Bleeker St.: "The Magnolia Bakery may--or may not--be a victim of zooming rents on W. Bleeker Street, but the equally venerable Paris Commune is. The West Village icon is surrendering to the swarm of designers clamoring for space on that part of Bleeker and relocating. The restaurant is relocating to the site of Nadine's, 99 Bank St. between Hudson and Greenwich, about 3 blocks away. Nadine's was almost as much a fixture of the neighborhood as Paris Commune. The new space will certainly be less cozy than the rather-small Bleeker St. space, but maybe the bigger space means shorter waits for the Commune's great weekend brunch."
