The NYT City Section offers more details about the threatened WTC mural on the side of Dolphins restaurant at Bowery and 6th Street, including this classy tidbit:
To the dismay of both the school and the nonprofit group, a portion of the mural has already been covered. The left side, which used to show a bridge in the East River, is painted white. It displays three words (Wall for Rent) and the phone number of the broker, who was hired by the restaurant.Way to go, Dolphins! A surer way to build neighborhood goodwill, we cannot conceive.
