Fall Food Report #6: What's The Matter With Clinton Street?

A Curbed reader emails,

just wondering if you knew what is going into that spot on the NW corner of Clinton & Stanton. Looks like some kind of restaurant. I live near there and was curious when I first noticed construction about a week ago.We reported on this via neighborhood weblog lesevil last month; apparently, it's going to be a tapas spot of some variety. What else is new on lower Manhattan's dining thoroughfare this fall? Not much, though the Lower East Side as a whole remains hot (with continued hat tips to NYMag and TONY): 1) Sachi's. Japanese restaurant serving kushiage (skewers); N.B. some sort of Iron Chef relation owns the joint. [25 Clinton St @ Stanton, soon]
2) Kitchen and Cocktails. A San Francisco spin-off offering lunchtime "flatwiches"? Ciao, hipsters! [199 Orchard St @ Stanton, October]
3) Stanton Social. A bunch of LES club vets (cf Double Happiness) do finger food in a new duplex club. [99 Stanton St @ Ludlow, November]
4) The Hotel on Rivington Restaurant. Unnamed as yet, Time Out says opening in "late December." Um, we'll see. [107 Rivington @ Essex, late who knows when]
