The Villager hops on the story of the East Village WTC mural painted over earlier this week. A Cooper Union spokesperson dismisses claims that enough people cared about its fate to warrant saving it:
"We got some e-mails, between 15 and 20, and I understand some people were handing out flyers ? but they were unsigned," she said. "We had decided it was time to move on. The mural was only supposed to be up for a year and it was up for almost three. We were happy to have it there and to contribute the space."Kudos also to The Villager for a just slightly over-the-top headline.
