Yesterday, police busted a Long Island man who pretended to be a real estate broker. That's crime enough in our book, but apparently he also ripped off thousands of dollars in deposits and fees from Craigslist users seeking a place to call home in the West Village. Says one neighbor, "It's kind of stupid. Who does that? Who cuts a check unless you have your contract in hand? That's elementary."
