Luna Lounge Out, More Condos In

As reported by Curbed last summer, the ageless Luna Lounge on the Lower East Side is closing. Luna will be kicked to the curb from its digs at 171 Ludlow Street at the end of February. "He told us that he plans to tear down the building and put apartments there," co-owner Rob Sacher told the NYPost of the new owner, who paid $2 million for the place last year. "Luxury condos or something. So now we have to move."

Leave it to the good folks at Misrahi Realty to tighten the screws: "The landlord needs to build up for the properties that he bought to have the highest and best use. It makes sense. This is what drives America," said Misrahi president Sion Misrahi. Thanks, man!
