Brooklyn Waterfront Park: Not Urban Enough

Sometimes we get the sense that Brooklyn is the crankiest of all boroughs. Take, for instance, this morning's word that some people are angry that the residential housing proposed for that trippy new waterfront park (right) might unfairly benefit the rich:

"I'm concerned that the wealthiest people in Brooklyn have hijacked the [project] ...to create a pretty green park that people stroll through as opposed to a vibrant urban park," said Roy Sloane, who headed the Cobble Hill Association and has been involved in the park's planning since its inception.Creating a "pretty green park" instead of a "vibrant urban park"? My God, the nerve.
