Last week, Curbed received an email from a woman crowing about purchasing the antique mailchute box from the lobby of the Gramercy Park Hotel. Now, it appears that her daughter is blogging about the next phase of the purchase: removing the damn thing from the wall: "Once she and my dad arrived at the hotel (which they tell me is having an 'Old New York' dress up party tonight) they realized two things. One, they'll need some tools and some help to pry the thing out of the wall. Two, the guy forgot to leave the letter of authenticity."
