Maniacal Quest to Buy, from Park Slope to Spain

How far would you go to own the house of your dreams? Would you eye it every day, silently wishing it could be yours? Failing to find the owners, would you break in through a hatch in the ceiling (right) and scrounge the place for clues? Would you then hang signs around the neighborhood seeking the elderly owners? And then, learning they have passed on, contact the family in Spain and make a lowball offer? Then fly to Spain to convince the family that your lowball offer is the way to go?

If so, then you're ready to play in the Park Slope real estate market. If not, get back to work. Obviously, you don't want it badly enough.
