That didn't take long! Yesterday, the good folks at Ikea cranked up the wrecking ball in Red Hook, laying waste to a Beard Street building dating to the Civil War. The building had to go?hey, it was deemed "unsafe" by Ikea engineers. Four more historic waterfront buildings are slated to be razed. Why? To make room for a glorious parking lot. Bricks out, Bromma in!
