Norman Foster Moves East (Side)

With the Norman Foster-designed Hearst Tower on Eighth Avenue nearing completion (right), what's a British starchitect to do? Howzabout gracing the East Side with one's architectural glory in the form of a 50-story hotel to be built on the old YWCA site at 610 Lexington Avenue (at 53rd Street). Steve Cuozzo reports that Foster has won the commission for the site that RFR Holdings paid $31.5 million for last year. (By the by, the Hearst Tower is looking pretty snazzy, huh? Curbed reader Drew Vandewart recently sent in a glamor shot, presented to soothe your senses after the jump.)
