Curbed LA: On the Market: A Little Slice of Bauhaus

Fans of unique architectural gems have a chance to own one of Walter Gropius' prefab homes. The General Panel Residence (1950) in Nichols Canyon, which features 3 beds and 2 baths on a wooded lot, is offered for $995,000. Ironically, the General Panel Residence was supposed to be an example of inexpensive, prefabricated housing that would make modern housing affordable for everyone. Somehow this idea never took off. Hmmm.
