Narrower Sidewalks: Tightening the City's Corset Over the Years

Check out the width on that old-timey sidewalk! In a vein similar to New York Changing, Aaron Donovan at Starts and Fits offers this then-and-now comparison, which reveals how much the city has sucked in its gut over the years to make way for the almighty automobile:
