The flagship Apple Store reported to be coming to the GM Building on Fifth Avenue between 57th and 58th Streets is falling into place. Late last week, cranes hoisted into place the piece de resistance. Reports AppleInsider, "When complete, the 32-foot glass cube will form a stunning gateway to a circular glass staircase and cylindrical elevator leading to an underground 25,000-square-foot Apple retail store." The store—about the size of Apple's Soho store—will open next year.
