In the Financial District, Art That's So Six Weeks Ago

For those still mildly amused by September's waterborne conceptual art mash-up - you know, the lone saffron "Gate" (lashed to a boat) in hot pursuit of Robert Smithson's Floating Island - the meta-laughs continue next week inside Redhead at 125 Maiden Lane, a downtown art space run by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. For the exhibit titled "A Cheap Publicity Stunt" (really), the actual boat will be displayed as an artifact alongside video footage "that documents the boat’s adventure and speaks back to all the attention." It runs through Dec. 22. And here you thought this joke didn't have legs.
