Those who doubt the power of the PriceHiker that will be the Second Ave. subway (whenever it gets here) need look no further than the west side of Hoboken and vicinity - once "real-estate backwater[s]," now certified parties to the bubble. The driving force there has been the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, which runs from Bayonne to Weehawken and may or may not be nicknamed the "Hibbler" by locals. Blogger New York's Sixth says:
Hoboken's seedy underbelly below the Palisades has been cited as an example of how the rail line is bringing revitalizing to many areas that otherwise would still be decrepit industrial sites. All we can say is: "obviously."What - you slept through that day in Urban Planning 101? Duh!
