Behold this bewitching postage stamp-sized image (right). To you, it may look like an odd green building. But to new development obsessive Triple Mint, it's much more than that—the first public image of Ian Schrager and Aby Rosen's new Bond Street residential development, just east of Lafayette Street in Noho. Reports 3xM:
Here is what we know so far from various sources: The Pritzker prize-winning Swiss design duo [of Herzog & de Meuron] will apparently re-imagine the classic cast iron building--only without the iron. Instead, the entire facade will be fashioned from glass pieces handmade in Barcelona. The mid-block building, located at 40 Bond Street, will have 30 loft condominium apartments, five townhouses with private backyards, and (according to British GQ) a three-room hotel. Yes, you read that right--just three rooms. Construction has not yet begun, although the site has been cleared, and core samples were recently drilled to test the soil.More details at Triple Mint, including a link to the super-secret 40 Bond website.
