Our endless interest in floorplan porn was piqued by a reader email suggesting that we revisit the website for 80 South Street, Santiago Calatrava's Tower o' Penthouses because they've added floorplans. Well, not quite. Sez our reader, "The floorplans are 'by request only.' I'm sure this is for the protection of young and innocent house buyers. Given that the 'starter apartment' is $29,000,000, I imagine the hard-core floorplan porn could scar someone for life."
An email to the 80 South Street team requesting a peek was met with a very polite by firm refusal: "Due to security and privacy concerns for our clients we are not posting the floor plans publicly." Fair enough. But surf around the site and you can steal some glimpses (like those reproduced above). Back to our tipster: "The renderings appear somewhat at random. If you close the text splashed over the rendering, you get to see another rendering. Eventually. Presumably this adds to the festivity."
