The week's goodness from Eater, the SLNY/Curbed restaurant blog...

1) Michelin mania swept the pages as the French guide released its first NYC edition. Eater wonders whether or not you should care, then picks winners and losers before delivering up the complete list of 507.
2) Lower East Side: Norfolk Street speakeasy The Back Room moves from hot to naught in a record-setting 30 days.
3) Openings and closings: the West Village loses The Waverly Inn; downtown scores a Bobby Van's branch, and Nolita's new 24 Prince reveals itself. The weekly Eater Dish rounds up the other openings of note.
4) If you missed it last week, the Eater 38 picks the 38 essential New York City restaurants. The first inductees: Balthazar and Nha Trang.
