Curbed Roundtable: Where to Buy for Bang for Buck?

Two nights ago, at a midtown real estate symposium, an audience member posed a timeless question: "Where would you buy right now in New York?" Kent Swig, the chair of Terra Holdings (which owns Brown Harris Stevens), suggested that perhaps the best relative bargains to be had now are on the Upper East Side, east of Lexington Ave.

With comments enabled this week, let's kick off the first Curbed Roundtable and open the question—slightly more focused—to everyone. Question: Where's the best place to buy in New York City right now, in terms of best bang for your buck?

Responses in the comments thread, if you please. Or email them our way if you're shy and we'll post up the good stuff.
