Who knew actor and Chelsea resident Sam Waterston would come out for the proposed 17-story, mixed-use tower at the General Theological Seminary? In an op-ed yesterday, he argues that the height complaints are pretty weak, the building it's going to replace wouldn't be much of a loss, and the money raised by the project will help to preserve the other "oasis"-like features of the campus. We're just surprised "Law & Order"-loving Gothamist doesn't appear to have weighed in on this latest salvo yet.
