Rentals, Rue 3 in Mott Haven, Port Morris

While the day when one might say "I live in SoBro" with a straight face still seems a bit distant, the one-or-two-subway-stops-into-Manhattan nabe of the South Bronx is once again attracting some gentri-ttention. This time via the Daily News and word that the guy behind Alphabet City bar Rue B is setting up shop at Third Ave. and E. 139th St. with the similarly named Rue 3. Meanwhile, the rental market gets a plug, including 129 Alexander Ave., where the rent is $1,200/mo. for a one-bedroom, and the neighbors are said to be quaint, safe-sounding furniture and antiques outlets. Add to that 185 apartments planned for a site near E. 134th St. and Lincoln Ave. and several other candidates for residential conversion nearby. As for the little name problem, we suggest MoHa, or better yet PoMo, for that extra special what-was-old-is-remixed feel.
