Mo Vaughn, Finally Batting Cleanup in New York

Mo Vaughn, having failed to do anything productive in Queens, is moving on to the Bronx. No, not as a Yankee. The ex-Met, who spent most of his 3 years at Shea rehabilitating his knee while earning $15 million, got a $28.6 million loan from the Housing Development Corporation to work on two low-income buildings in Mott Haven. At least he knows the score:

"I came to New York to play ball, and that didn't work out so well," Vaughn told reporters. "So I had to figure out something else that might."· Mo Vaughn Goes to Bat for Bronx Poor [NYDailyNews]
