Dumpster-Diving for Art in the East Village

Still wondering how you're going to cover the walls of your sprawling East Village penthouse? A Curbed reader reports that there's free art in the neighborhood:

On Lafayette between Indochine and Crunch ? close to the new Astor Place monolith ? there was a dumpster full of art (oils, chalk drawings, etc.) just sitting on the curb. The wind had blown some of the art around onto the sidewalk, and people were just staring at the drawings, amazed that good art would be scattered around on the middle of the street. Maybe a studio was clearing out a storage room...but do they really throw that shit away?
Run, don't walk, and remember to send pictures once you've framed those nudes.
