For the first time since REBNY started tracking condo prices a decade ago, the average sale price of condos below 14th Street now exceeds the average sale prices uptown. Writes Braden Keil, "The median price for condo residences south of 42nd Street has reached $667,000 ? beating $650,000 and $630,000 on the Upper West and East sides respectively. The increase was fueled predominantly by sales below 14th Street, where prewar condos surged to a median price of $1.275 million, while postwar units came in at $950,000."
