Is there anything nastier than a down-and-dirty hot dog war? A Curbed reader reports from the fierce battleground of West 4th Street:
It appears that the new Papaya Dog on w4th offered the same special as Gray's Papaya down the street, $2.75 for 2 dogs and a med drink. Gray's response was to lower their price of the recession special to $1.95 for 2 dogs and a med drink and now sell hot dogs at 50 cents a pop. Also the former Joe's Pizza and village garden spaces are being completely gutted and rebuilt. That's Papaya Dog, not to be confused with Papaya King. The only loser here? Our digestive tract.
