The Other MetLife Shoe Drops is reporting that the MetLife building at 200 Park Ave. has been sold to Tishman Speyer for a price "above $1.7 billion." The Real Deal says that would be a record for an NYC office building, topping the $1.4 billion Harry Macklowe paid for the GM Building in 2003. Not a bad week for MetLife; on Wednesday, One Madison Ave., the smaller of the insurance giant's two towers, fetched $918 million. Alas, no condo plans on the Park site...yet.
