What do you do when your landlord puts your Lower East Side two-bedroom on the market when you still have four months to go on the lease, and the realtor handling the sale schedules showings and open houses at inconvenient times? Well, if you're the lads behind the legendary Astor Place Rubik's Cube prank, you print up dozens of copies of the realtor's picture and blanket your apartment with them just before one of those scheduled open houses.
Revenge may be sweet, but this story has a sour ending--unless you're a realtor. The boys were served 30 days' notice on the place, despite the landlord's initial promise to honor the lease. Ouch! Perhaps there's a home for them in the prank hall of fame.
