We were sorely mistaken in neglecting to mention the latest squabble over the Finger in Williamsburg, as reported in the Daily News yesterday, but better late than never, right? Residents still outraged over the 220-foot tower are looking for any excuse to hamper construction, and the presence of a few workers welding past quitting time was enough for one neighbor to call 911 over "fears" of an electrical fire. Buildings Department inspectors checked out the site and found no illegal activity--four days later. Hey, take your time boys: we wouldn't want to head out there, either.
