Vornado/Related Set to Grab Penn Station Contract?

The Vornado Realty Trust/Related Companies team looks set to grab the contract to revamp the Farley Post Office adjacent to Madison Square Garden into Moynihan Penn Station, reports Gothamist sister site DCist. Writes the DC-area blog,

According to an informed DCist source, Vornado Realty Trust looks poised to clinch one of the hottest real estate development contracts in recent New York City history: the future Moynihan train station at the Farley Post Office on Eighth Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets, across the street from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. Of course, there are still many what ifs out there.
Last fall, when the list of developers was cut to four (Vornado/Related, Tishman Speyer with Jones Lang LaSalle, and Boston Properties), it was reported that a decision would be made in March. A voluminous history of the project, and rundown of the players, continues at DCist.
