Red Hook's Verdant Metaphor Opens to Public

After endless months behind closed gates, its green swaths taunting, the first stretch of Red Hook's new waterfront park (designed by landscape designer Lynden Miller) opened to the public last Friday. Reports Red Hook quasi-blog B61Productions,

The Pier 44 Jetty and Waterfront Garden is one section of the half-mile public walkway that will extend along the shoreline from Pier 41 near Van Dyke St. to the Beard St. Warehouse. Set between the civil-war era buildings, the park stands as a metaphor for Red Hook as a whole. We're not even gonna touch that one.
