Man, is there anything more exciting than the plight of a "contributing" building on the Upper East Side? Doubtful. Which is why we nearly jumped into our granola and drowned ourselves this morning when we read of the latest developments in the Whitney Museum's continuing efforts to raze a brownstone in order to take over the Upper East Side. The museum still wants to demolish the sucker, and will say as much at a preservation commission meeting today. But just in case, the brass has made architect Renzo Piano draw up some other plans. Ah, Renzo. Finally made the New York Times!
