It's a little early in the day for math, but sharpen your pencils anyway, students: Rent Guidelines Board + stabilized apartments + 7.5% increase in 2003 + 6.5% increase last year + landlord advocates - rowdy tenants yelling "you're parasites!" / election year politics = 2-4.5% increase for one-year leases, 4-7% for two-year. Then again, there are still two public hearings on the matter in June, more than enough time for protestors to come up new off-the-wall insults to mess up the whole equation.
