My oh my, those changes to Brooklyn's southern tip sure are coming fast and furious. One of Coney Island's most treasured spelling errors, the 86-year-old B&B Carousell, is expected to be auctioned off this summer?and city officials are scrambling to raise enough money to save Coney's last remaining wooden horsie ride. Said Councilman Dominic Recchia in the Post: "We've got to save the character and quaintness of Coney Island." Yo Dom, hate to break it to you, but character and quaintness both checked out a little while ago. Needless to say, reaction to the auction on the Coney Island message board has been ... emotional: "The National Carousel Association has to be informed immediately!!!"
