Call off the Human Chain; Work Stopped in South Slope

Earlier in the week, with excavators lurking and telephone poles falling, it looked like we were going to have a real developer v. human-chain-threatening neighborhood activist showdown at 408 15th St. in the South Slope. Today, we're told that Stop Work Order signs (see above), signed by Borough commish Susan Hinkson herself, have been posted on site and that the excavators are growing weeds. Says our source, "Looks like Mondays human chain may not happen."
