In MePa, the Noise Gods Giveth... and Taketh

Here's something we weren't sure we'd live long enough to see. The Hotel Gansevoort has apparently corrected its "dull, unceasing noise" issues, meaning it's no longer the loudest place in the Meatpacking District. That honor may soon go to a proposed three-story hip-hop club that's looking to open on Eighth Avenue. Memo to potential residents of the Meatpacking District: work the night shift.

RELATED: The Villager has a whole slew of Meatpacking stories this week, including one piece we expect to see duplicated as often as that "Last Moments of the Fulton Fish Market" story. We're talking, of course, about the Last Moments of the Real Live Meatpackers story. Natch.
