Final plans for Moynihan Station were announced yesterday afternoon, and it seems our neutering concerns were at least partly unfounded. Yes, David Childs' scalloped roofline is out, but an undulating—that word again! Must! Undulate!—skylight ceiling takes its place, thanks to new project architects James Carpenter Design Associates, in collaboration with nouveau baseball stadium divas HOK. Despite the big changes upstairs, the trains stay downstairs, pretty much where they are now, albeit surrounded by additional, er, merchandising opportunities. Facade work starts later this year, and interior work next year, for completion in 2010. After the jump, another image of a project that can't come soon enough.
