In Chicago, Calatrava's 'Turgid, Glistening Shaft'

The Gutter seethes with the word that architect Santiago Calatrava (he of that leafy WTC transit station and the Tower o' Penthouse Power) has brought his gilded gifts to Chicago, where they plan to build the tallest building in the United States. Its height? A very non-symbolic 2,000 feet, dwarfing the Spirit o' 1,776 Freedom Tower-to-be. And what will fill these 115 floors? Why, condos, of course. Now why didn't Larry think of that?
